This book reports modelling work within the Norwegian national research program on multi-species management. The work was concentrated on the interaction between different species in the Barents sea. The book combines contributions from different fields - fisheries biology, ecology, fisheries economics and statistics. In principle, the work covers the whole process related to the management of the ecological system, from plankton inflow, feeding fish stocks, their interaction, economic calculations and finally a general approach to the decision problems for managers. The goal of the program was to develop a decision tool for the Norwegian fisheries management authorities. The book can be seen as a step in this direction.
