One hundred years ago the simmering dispute about the correct path towards Modernism reached boiling point in Berlin. This publication traces all aspects of the rapid succession of artistic revolutions that took place in the period between 1898 and 1918 in Germany’s capital city. The result is a novel juxtaposition of a dense artistic panorama with works of art by more than 120 Berlin-based artists, from the famous to the as-yet-undiscovered.
