In 1715 Margrave Charles III William of Baden-Durlach (1679-1738) founded the city that bears his name to this day: Karlsruhe. On the occasion of the 300-year anniversary of the founding of the city the historical significance of the colorful life of the founder of the city is honored for the first time. A collection of 250 works, including unique and personal objects, paint a lively portrait of the Baroque margrave.
