With Houses Rooms Voices, Stefan Koppelkamm (*1952 in Saarbrucken) not only collects basic elements of urban space. The catalogue also uses them to stage a game with different times. It focuses on the Local Time project, which the photographer initiated in 1990. Shortly after the fall of the Berlin wall, he travels through eastern Germany and captures houses, streets, and squares in black-and-white photographs. Ten years later, he seeks out these places a second time and takes pictures of them from exactly the same position. The changes are remarkable: social and economical transformations permeate each of these images. Supplemented by contemporary urban impressions-enormous window facades and huge billboards-as well as urban sound collages, Koppelkamm creates a panorama that embraces not only space, but time as well. Exhibition: Museum der bildenden Kunste Leipzig 14.2.-29.5.2016
