At the initiative of the Kulturfond Frankfurt RheinMain, nine regional institutions joined forces to exhibit works by outstanding international contemporary photographers and video artists from around the Rhine-Main region. The exhibition MAKING HISTORY will take place at three central locations: the Frankfurter Kunstverein, the MMK Museum fur Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main, and at the MMK Zollamt. MAKING HISTORY presents works of art that examine the way that media images stage reality. The participating artists do not offer any sort of prefabricated models of history; rather, they make it possible to recognize very different, subjective perspectives of historical events. This publication features works by about thirty-eight of the artists in the show, from Harun Farocki and Jeff Wall to Oliviero Toscani, arranged according to their respective thematic context. Exhibition schedule: Frankfurter Kunstverein, MMK Museum fur Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main, MMK Zollamt, April 20-July 8, 2012 | And further venues
