Tacita Dean: The Dante Project
A collaborative and transdisciplinary ballet piece inspired by Dante’s odyssey of death
British artist Tacita Dean (born 1965) was recently commissioned by The Royal Opera House to collaborate with choreographer Wayne McGregor and composer Thomas Ades on a piece inspired by Dante’s The Divine Comedy. Presented here in three parts, the ballet mirrors Dante’s journey through the realms of the dead: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso.
