Die Kurzbiografie von Ernst Hanz in Text und Bildern: Hanz wuchs im katholischen Milieu in Kaiserslautern auf. 1915 wurde er bei Ypern verwundet und heiratete 1918 in Landau. Als BVP/Zentrum-Anhanger organisierte Hanz die Pfalzwacht in Landau, was im Juni 1933 zu seiner fristlosen Entlassung bei der Sparkasse fuhrte. Hanz blieb NSDAP-Gegner. Nach dem Krieg fand er Anerkennung als politisches Opfer des Faschismus und war von 1945 bis 1959 Direktor der Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Landau in der Pfalz.
