In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Begriff der Hoffnung philosophisch geklart. Da sich Hoffnung als ein vom Wunsch gespeistes Furwahrhalten zwischen Wissen und Nichtwissen bewegt, kann sie als ein kognitiver Irrtum angesehen werden. Insofern Hoffnung das Risiko der Tauschung und Enttauschung beinhaltet, stellt sich die Frage nach ihrer Vereinbarkeit mit intellektueller Redlichkeit. Durch Hoffnung wird der Mensch gelenkt und auch durch Fremdeinfluss manipulierbar. Es ist zu uberlegen, ob Hoffnung ein Segen oder ein UEbel ist.
