Die Wahl zur Nationalversammlung am 19.1.1919 war wegweisend fur die deutsche Geschichte, doch eine klare Entscheidung brachte sie nicht. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, ob das anders gewesen ware, ware nicht die Verhaltniswahl eingefuhrt, sondern das auf der absoluten Mehrheitswahl basierende kaiserzeitliche Wahlsystem in seiner am 24.8.1918 reformierten Fassung angewandt worden. Im Anhang enthalt die Arbeit diese reformierte Fassung des Wahlgesetzes sowie die amtlichen Ergebnisse der Wahl zur Nationalversammlung auf dem Gebiet der kaiserzeitlichen Reichstagswahlkreise.
