Johann Wolfgang von Goethes ‘Goetz von Berlichingen’ ist ein Schauspiel in 5 Aufzugen, das 1774 uraufgefuhrt wurde. Vorbild fur das Stuck war der frankische Reichsritter Gottfried Goetz von Berlichingen zu Hornberg, mit der eisernen Hand , der um 1480 in Jagsthausen geboren worden war und am 23. Juli 1562 auf Burg Hornberg in Neckarzimmern verstarb. Goetz von Berlichingen wurde vor allem durch seine Rolle im schwabischen Bauernkrieg bekannt.
