Dieser 1895 erschienene Klassiker der Science-Fiction-Literatur ist die erste literarische Beschreibung einer Zeitreise in die Zukunft, die mittels einer Zeitmaschine bewerkstelligt wird. Der Roman wurde mehrmals verfilmt und gilt ausserdem als ein Schlusselwerk zur Entstehung des Steampunk.
