Donald Trump, 45. Prasident der USA, hat deutsch-schottische Vorfahren, die teilweise zuruck bis zur 12. Generation identifiziert werden konnten. Sein Vater Frederick Christ (Fred) Trump hat deutsche Wurzeln. Dessen Eltern, Friedrich (Fred) Trump (1868-1918) und Elisabeth Christ (1880-1966) wurden beide in Kallstadt unweit von Durkheim geboren. Seine Mutter, Mary Anne MacLeod, hat schottische Wurzeln. Sie kommt von der Isle of Lewis in den AEusseren Hebriden, die vor der Nordwestkuste Schottlands liegen. Ihr Vater Malcom MacLeod (1866-1954) war dort Fischer und heiratete die dort beheimatete Mary Smith (1867-1963).
