This set of recommendations for psychosocial support was developed particularly for disaster managers with strategic responsibilities. The development process was part of an international research project, which had received funding from the European Commission. Besides producing a novel disaster phase model, the process yielded an innovative, evidence-based online application of strategic recommendations for psychosocial support. The findings and challenges may be of interest not only for disaster managers, but middle and higher management in general, policy makers, researchers and guideline developers.
