Die Bonner Professoren fur Medizin bzw. Chemie, Harless und Bischof, veroeffentlichten 1827 eine Brunnenschrift, in der sie anschaulich ihre Besuche und Untersuchungen an der alkalisch-erdigen Eisenquelle in Lamscheid beschrieben. Ihre Hoffnung, nach einem Vergleich mit dem beruhmten Bad in Spa, dass hier ein Bad im Hunsruck entstehen koennte, blieb jedoch ein Traum.
