Das Buch ‘Albertus Magnus und die Wiederentdeckung der Mathematik im 13. Jahrhundert’ von Eckhard Dallmer ist die erste, durchaus gelungene und fur einen breiten Leserkreis bestimmte Darstellung des deutschen Universalgelehrten und Dominikanermoenchs Albert des Grossen (gest. 1280) als Mathematiker. Diese kleine Monographie charakterisiert in pragnanter Weise das Zeitalter der Scholastik, sie stellt in wesentlichen Zugen Alberts Biographie vor und prasentiert anhand seiner philosophischen Schriften und des Kommentars zur Geometrie des Euklid die singulare Stellung, die er auf dem Gebiet der Mathematik im Hochmittelter einnimmt.
