Due to the recent explosion of image and video data in IoT systems, specifically designed image and video codecs have become increasingly preferred. To improve image quality while reducing data burden, techniques focusing on image/video coding and processing that are low-cost are needed. These methods should also save power and extend battery life, which will help meet the design needs of sensor nodes.
