Working Without Boal: Digressions and Developments in the Theatre of the Oppressed

This issue looks at the influence of Augusto Boal’s work on theatre practice in Britain and Northern Ireland. Contributions come from a range of practitioners who acknowledge a debt to Boal in their work, but at the same time, take issue with many of his ideas. The articles examine work in a variety of community and educational contexts. This book also includes a report on the Festival of Theatre of the Oppressed held in Rio in 1993.
