BIO: Maximilian Gottschlich, 1948 in Wien geboren, studierte Publizistik, Padagogik, Politikwissenschaft und Philosophie in Wien. Wahrend des Studiums freiberufliche journalistische Tatigkeit. 1974 Promotion. 1974-1981 Univ.-Assistent am Institut fur Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft der Universitat Wien. 1981 Habilitation mit einer Arbeit uber Journalismus und Orientierungsverlust (erschienen bei Boehlau). Seit 1983 Univ.-Professor an diesem Institut. 1984 Gastprofessor in den USA und der BRD. 1994 Grundung der Europaischen Journalismus Akademie (EJA) an der Donau-Universitat Krems als Einrichtung zur postgradualen Journlistenausbildung. Zahlreiche Studien und Veroeffentlichungen zu Problemen der modernen Kommunikationsgesellschaft, der Medien-Ethik, des Verhaltnisses von Religion, Medien und Gesellschaft. Zuletzt Schwerpunktsetzung im Bereich medizinischer Kommunikation.
