Scientific Study from the year 2016 in the subject English - Pedagogy, Didactics, Literature Studies, course: English Language Education, language: English, abstract: The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning in improving students’ achievement and attitude towards learning. Questionnaires were administered to sixty students. In-depth interviews were conducted with two teachers; besides, two classes were observed to investigate students’ cooperative learning experience, students’ attitude towards cooperative learning, improvements in students’ achievement and how cooperative learning impacted on students’ performance and class participation. The results indicated that there are numerous benefits that can be attributed to cooperative learning such as enhancement in class participation, improvements in students’ performance and achievement and more approval of tasks as well as creating better social relations among peers.
