Volume 12 completes the alphabetical Formula Index. The index covers aII volumes of the Eighth Edition through 1974 for the Main Series and through 1973 for the New Supplement Series. In aII, there are more than 142,000 entries. aII definite elements, compounds, ions, and systems discussed in the The index includes volumes covered. The substances are arranged by their empirical formulas. In the second col- umn the usual formula is given. The elements are entered by their symbols. Transuranium ele- ments that do not yet have an official IUPAC name are listed separately at the end of this volume. Supplements will keep this index up-to-date. The first supplement, which will cover the years 1974 through 1979, is already in preparation.
