This study explores the influence of Radio Benue on public opinion formation and its effectiveness in promoting the adoption of Nigeria's new naira design policy. Through survey research conducted within Makurdi metropolis, the research identifies specific radio programs such as Business World, You and the Economy, and Current Affairs as pivotal communication tools. The findings reveal that these programs, broadcast frequently and strategically, significantly enhanced public awareness, shaped perceptions, and encouraged acceptance of the policy. Leveraging the agenda-setting and social responsibility theories, this study underscores radio's unique capacity to disseminate critical information and mobilize public opinion, particularly in regions with limited access to alternative media. The insights provided are instrumental for policymakers and broadcasters in crafting effective communication strategies for public engagement and policy implementation.
