Simone Ines Linke beschreibt die stereotype und stark asthetisierte Konstruktion medialer Landschaften und geht darauf ein, welche gesellschaftlichen Auswirkungen damit verbunden sind. Die Autorin zieht geographische, philosophische und soziologische Perspektiven heran und zeigt, dass mediale Landschaftskonstrukte teils auffallig bearbeitet und selektiert werden. Daruber hinaus unterscheiden sie sich auch deutlich von vorgefundenen Landschaftskonstrukten. Da mediale Darstellungen auch eine sozialisierende Funktion einnehmen, koennen diese Bilder zu einem Akzeptanzproblem in Bezug auf beispielsweise neue Energielandschaften fuhren.
