Seit den 1970er Jahren liegen die entsprechenden Referenztexte von George Herbert Mead, Herbert Blumer, Erving Goffman oder Anselm Strauss in UEbersetzung vor. Auch sind in den letzten funfzig Jahren eine Reihe von davon angeleiteten Untersuchungen entstanden, aber vom Entstehen einer Forschungslandschaft kann in der deutschsprachigen Soziologie keine Rede sein. Hierzu will diese Publikation ihre Dienste leisten.
