Der Autor stellt die Ergebnisse seiner eigenen, der bisher wohl umfassendsten Studie dieser Art dar: 119 Patientinnen mit Postpartum-Psychose und ihre Verwandten ersten Grades wurden durchschnittlich 21 Jahre nach der Indexerkrankung erfasst. Die Untersuchung schliesst eine Lucke bezuglich klinisch relevanter Kenntnisse uber diese Stoerungen. Der nosologische Status der Postpartum-Psychosen wird vor dem Hintergrund heutiger Kenntnisse uber endogene Psychosen dargelegt. Zugleich gibt das Buch einen UEberblick hinsichtlich wichtiger Aspekte des Phanomens der Postpartum-Psychose.
