Nach seinem Tode im Jahre 1933 ist er nahezu vergessen. Die Arbeit beschaftigt sich mit Leben uns Werk eines (zu Recht?) vergessenen Romantikers, und beleuchtet asthetische, politische und menschliche Aspekte dieser umstrittenen wilhelminischen Kunstlerpersoenlichkeit im Spannungsfeld zwischen musikalischem Anspruch und nationalsozialistischer Vereinnahmung.
