Compiler Design

A compiler translates a program written in a high level language into a program written in a lower level language. For students of computer science, building a compiler from scratch is a rite of passage: a challenging and fun project that offers insight into many different aspects of computer science, some deeply theoretical, and others highly practical.The area of compiler construction is introduced in this book. It combines a thorough explanation of the theory behind the contemporary approach to compiler design with several real-world examples, as well as a comprehensive description of a tiny language compiler complete with source code. It is especially made to be used in an advanced undergraduate course that introduces compiler design or compiler development. However, because it tries to provide the reader with all the tools and hands-on experience needed to design and program an actual compiler, it will also be helpful to professionals starting or joining a compiler writing project.
