Basic skills are enhancing the career development of soldiers with the US Army’s implementation of Functional Academic Skills Training (FAST). This book analyzes the factors influencing perceived career development enhancement for enlisted soldiers after attending FAST.The factors included:(a) perceived career development; (b) years of military service; © age; (d) gender; and (e) the overseas military environment. All of the participants were adult enlisted soldiers that are progressing in career fields in the Army after the completion of an adult literacy program (FAST) assigned to units in an overseas command in Seoul, Korea. Therefore, this book is relevant to determine its effectiveness on learning preparedness and career development primarily in the U.S. Army. The findings from this book will contribute to the existing research on military career development by filling empirical research gaps that exist in this area as well as assist program counselors, military leaders, professors, educational personnel, and students on making appropriate career choices in basic education and post-secondary programs.
