Este trabajo empirico se dedica al uso de los tiempos verbales en el espanol hablado en Espana. Pone especial atencion en el uso del preterito imperfecto de indicativo en conversaciones coloquiales. Partiendo de enfoques de la investigacion gramatical y del espanol hablado, se analizan los valores y las funciones discursivas de este tiempo verbal. El estudio se basa en metodos cuantitativos y cualitativos de la Linguistica de Corpus y del Analisis del Discurso.
