Zur Klarung dieser Frage rekapituliert die Autorin die allgemeine Geschichte der Enzyklopadie bis hin zur Etablierung der Online-Enzyklopadie Wikipedia. Reprasentative Metadaten auf Basis des Qualitatsbegriffs der Wikipedia bilden im Anschluss den Ausgangspunkt fur eine semiautomatische Analyse von Artikeln zur mittelalterlichen Sprache und Literatur.
