Das Buch behandelt die Theologie des brasilianischen Jesuiten und Fundamentaltheologen Joao Batista Libanio. Es bietet zunachst eine Prasentation seiner Bibliografie und Biografie. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt dabei der Bedeutung seiner Heimat in Brasilien, Minas Gerais. Aus einer uberwiegend fundamentaltheologischen Sicht nimmt der Autor anschliessend eine Einordnung der Theologie Libanios vor. Ausserdem arbeitet er einen Leitfaden aus dessen Theologie heraus, den er im Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzil erkennt. Das Konzil nimmt er hinsichtlich der Charakterisierung und des Verstandnisses der theologischen Meinung Libanios unter die Lupe.
