Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind die roemischen Deklamationen des Prinzipats. Die Deklamationen Senecas des AElteren, Quintilians und Calpurnius Flaccus’ werden auf ihre Relevanz fur die Rechtsgeschichte hin untersucht. Der Realitatsbezug des verwendeten Rechts wird ebenso gepruft wie die Methode der juristischen Argumentation und der sozio-kulturelle Kontext. Die in der Literatur bislang herrschende Ansicht, die roemischen Deklamationen seien reine rhetorische UEbungsstucke und fur die Rechtsgeschichte nicht von Bedeutung, wird in der Arbeit widerlegt.
