Der vorliegende Band versteht sich als Monographie der Kosmiker Derleth, George, Klages, Schuler und Wolfskehl. Der Band moechte:

-Jedes Mitglied der Mannerunde in seiner Eigenstandigkeit und Unverwechselbarkeit vorstellen;
- Die Interdependenz der Kosmiker und ihren gruppendynamischen Prozess erhellen;
-Die Mannerrunde in den Kontext des Schwabinger Anti-Wilhelminismus rucken und speziell ihre Bedeutung fur den (Pra-)Faschismus herausarbeiten.
Vor allem aber moechte er die Kosmiker charakterisieren und kritisieren im Blick auf Franziska Grafin zu Reventlow, welche ein Stuck weit zu ihnen gehoerte, hauptsachlich jedoch ihre Antipodin war.
