Gegenstand der Arbeit ist die Darstellung und die kritische Beleuchtung der Situation im Massregelvollzug untergebrachter Frauen.

Anhand bundesweiter empirischer Studien konnten erstmals persoenliche Hintergrunde, Lebensumstande und Krankheitsgeschichten psychisch kranker Straftaterinnen umfassend dargestellt werden. Das Hauptaugenmerk der Untersuchung liegt auf der Behandlung der Frauen durch die Gerichte und auf deren Unterbringung in den Massregelvollzugsanstalten.

Die Diskrepanz zwischen Recht und Rechtswirklichkeit wird hier besonders deutlich.
