Mutual Exchanges: Sheffield-Muenster Colloquium I

Twenty-three papers, which were given in October 1997 by the academic staff and postgraduates of the University of Sheffield, the University of Muenster and their guests at the colloquium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the academic exchange between the universities of Muenster and Sheffield (1947-1997), are printed here and cover the areas of linguistics, literature from Sebastian Brandt to Botho Strauss, social issues, Exilliteratur, migrant literature, area studies and Anglo-German relations.
