Traditionell wird Soziale Arbeit als Teil der demokratisch verfassten Wohlfahrtsstaaten angesehen, die im zweiten Drittel des 20. Jahrhunderts ihre starkste Auspragung erfahren hatten. Mit der Transformation dieser wohlfahrtsstaatlichen Arrangements verandert sich inzwischen auch das Verhaltnis von Sozialer Arbeit und Demokratie. In diesem Band werden diese Entwicklungsprozesse in ihrer Widerspruchlichkeit von post-demokratischer Delegitimierung und neuer Demokratisierung fur die Soziale Arbeit systematisiert und diskutiert.
