Die Theorie des politischen Organisationsfeldes versucht aufzuzeigen, dass Organisationen und akademisch ausgebildeten Berufsgruppen ein immer groesserer Stellenwert fur die politisch angeleitete Ausdifferenzierung und Fortentwicklung komplexer Gesellschaften zukommt. Zu diesem Zweck verwendet der Autor zentrale Annahmen der Bourdieuschen Feldtheorie, insbesondere den Aspekt einer Homologie (einer Strukturahnlichkeit und ‘Wahlverwandtschaft’) von sozialen Statuskonflikten, fur die Analyse und Konzeptualisierung der interorganisationellen Politikgestaltung. Auf diese Weise gelingt es, ein angemesseneres Erklarungsmodell fur die Konstitutions- und Reproduktionsweisen von politischer Macht vorzustellen.
