Dieses stammt aus der konzeptionell wichtigen Entstehungsperiode des Manuskriptes Zur Kritik der Politischen OEkonomie (1861 - 1863).Im ersten Teil des Bandes nimmt der Autor in Auseinandersetzung mit Ernst Noltes Marxismus und Industrielle Revolution eine umfangliche sozialhistorische Einschatzung dieser Epoche vor. Auf dem Hintergrund der Theorie der sozialen Arbeit weist er im Marxschen Verstandnis des Begriffs der industriellen Revolution eine stark intentionale Komponente und im zeitgenoessischen Verstandnis von Maschinerie stark stilisierte und verdinglichte Bewaltigungsformen der Industrialisierung nach.
