Gegenstand dieser Arbeit ist die muttersprachlich besonders stark gemischte Sprachgemeinschaft einer Schweizer Grundschulklasse. Die Klassensprache wird variationslinguistisch beschrieben und die klasseninternen sozialen Prozesse soziographisch erfasst. Dialektologische und sozialpsychologische Variablen werden miteinander in Beziehung gesetzt, daneben sind Beobachtungen zu sozialer Solidaritat und Abgrenzung Gegenstand der qualitativen Analyse. Die Klassensprache wird als kumulatives Produkt der kommunikativen Einzelinteressen interpretiert. Die Ergebnisse tragen zum besseren Verstandnis von Sprache und ihrer Entwicklung in multifaktoriellen Kontexten bei.
