From the Records of a Priestly Family from Memphis

Within the frame of studies devoted to the history of Egypt under the Ptolemies, E. A. E. Reymond presents documentary sources relating to the history of a family of Memphite priests who occupied a prominent position. Their records, inscribed in hieroglyphic and Demotic writing on funerary stelae, range in date from the time of Ptolemy II Philadelphos to the Roman invasion and shed new light on the inter-relationship of Greek sovereigns, Egyptian priesthood and native nobility. This volume includes the relevant texts together with translations, indices and photographs of the monuments concerned.
