On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Technical University of Vienna, this volume offers a unique overview of the diverse areas of activity, the sum of which makes up the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning. The contributions documented in this publication demonstrate the extraordinarily broad spectrum of a faculty that deals with the development of our environment beyond the disciplinary boundaries and on the most varied of scales; a development that she pursues from an artistic-architectural perspective as well as from a strategic-planning perspective. The bandwidth of the positions presented here thus ranges from the assertion of disciplinary autonomy and clearly delimited scientific research to interdisciplinary, everyday and user-related approaches.
