The first part, which is divided into 26 chapter discussion the origin of Vaishnavism by analyzing parts of the mahabharat, Bhagvatgita, the cult of Krishna, the Cult of Rama and then enumerates the contribution of Poets Saints and Philosophers such as Ramanya, Ramananda, Kabir, Tulsidas, Chaitanya, and Tukaram. The 2nd part which discusses Saivism is divided into 18 chapters that deal with the origin and development of Rudra-Siva, mentions of Rudra-siva in the Mahabharat, the several classes of Siva worship, the name and doctrines of Siva sects, the pashupata system, the Saiva system, the Kapila and Kalamukha System, Kashmir Saivism, the lingayat sect, Saivite worship, the sakta or Shaki worship, Skanda, sun worship. Both parts 1 and 2 end with a resume on each system.
