Wohl mochte seit dem Abschluss der Sammlung der alttestamentliche Schatz unversehrt in dem kanonischen Schrein ruhen; die F ixitat der Schriftzeichen hinderte nicht, dass der Sinn derselben sich in dem Geiste und in der Phantasie der spateren Geschlechter vielfach anders abspiegelte als bei den Zeitgenossen der ersten Verfasser.
