Excerpt from Die Statik der Schwerlastkrane: Werft-und Schwimmkrane und Schwimmkranpontons Als ich die erste wie auch die zweite Auflage meines Buches Die Statik des Kranbaues bearbeitete, habe ich von einer ein gehenden Behandlung der schwerlast-krane abgesehen, in der Ab sicht, dieses Gebiet spater einmal in einer besonderen Schritt um fassend vor Augen zu fuhren. Nachdem einige]ahre dahingegangen waren, fand ich endlich Musse, mein Vorhaben zur Ausfuhrung zu bringen, und ubergebe hiermit den Fachgenossen das Buch mit dem Wunsche, es moege dieselbe freundliche Aufnahme finden wie sein Vorganger die Statik des Kranbaues.
