Seine UEbersetzung des dogmatischen Werkes von Basilius dem Grossen, in Auftrag gegeben von Kardinal Bessarion, ist nicht nur vor dem Hintergrund des Unionskonzils von Ferrara-Florenz zu verstehen, sondern spielt auch im Rahmen der Platon-Aristoteles-Kontroverse bei Georgs Zerwurfnis mit Bessarion eine ganz eigene Rolle.
