Veranstalter war die Internationale Schleiermacher-Gesellschaft in Verbindung mit der Theologischen Fakultat der Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin und der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Im Anhang wird eine Nachschrift des Schleiermacher'schen Konfirmandenunterrichts von 1831/32 erstmals ediert.
