Hermann Hesse (1877-1962) is one of the most important and widely read German writers of the 20th century. There is an enormous amount of critical and theoretical secondary literature on him, and this volume provides the first complete up-to-date bibliography of these writings. The bibliography includes some 25,000 titles of German and international secondary literature and classifies them systematically under headings such as biography, individual works, letters, processes of reception at home and abroad etc. The bibliography aims for completeness and is superior to earlier works both in the number of entries and the relevance of the titles included.
