Specimina physica B. De theologia philosophi C. Excerpta ac edenda D. Annotata E. De arte inveniendi F. De summa rerum G. Definitionum juris specimen H. De vita beata Samtliche Stucke sind aus den Handschriften bzw. Handexemplaren erarbeitet; keines wurde von Leibniz selbst zum Druck gegeben, wenngleich einige eine weitgehend abgeschlossene Form haben. Breiten Raum nimmt zunachst der Ausbau der neuen physikalischen Hypothese ein, deren Thematik 1676 erstmals aufgenommen wird. Neben Entwurfen zur Methodologie werden unter dem von Leibniz gewahlten Titel De summa rerum bemerkenswerte Stucke zur Metaphysik aufgenommen, die eine Art philosophisches Tagebuch bilden.
