The year is 1921 to 1973. The place, East Africa.
The biography of C.W. (Clary) Palmer-Wilson.
As a 14-year-old boy, he left his home in Tanga, accompanied by 2 porters, and ventured into the wild bush country, determined to become a big game hunter.
East Africa was still an uncharted, harsh land, teeming with vast herds of wild game. Anyone with enough courage and resources could dare to undertake a safari into its unexplored realms, but at his own risk.
Unable to survive by hunting only, He undertook any odd job to keep himself from starving. But his attempts at farming, gold mining, garaging and even marriage were doomed to failure as he was constantly being drawn back to a life in the bush.
In 52 years of hunting and exploring this big game country, Clary experienced more escapades and adventures than most men could have in 10 lifetimes.
The final chapter in the history of hunting in colonial East Africa was coming to an end, and the legend of C. W. Palmer-Wilson deserves a mention.
