Have you ever wondered how the Gospels came into being? Who wrote all the Gospels, and why does it matter? We have four slightly different accounts of the same events in the gospels. The author's interpretations and beliefs greatly influence the telling of a story. This book is a thought experiment. The story is written by Andrew. He is one of the lesser known apostles of Jesus. Andrew's story provides a different perspective and set of beliefs about who Jesus really was and what his true purpose was. The original intent of this book was to create an evangelical harmony, which is an attempt to compile the canonical gospels into a single narrative. During my researches and discoveries, the writing process took a different path and turned out to become something unexpected. This book should give Bible skeptics a fresh look at the story of Jesus.
Synopsis
Andrew just completed the reading of his nephew's manuscript. The manuscript is a compilation of teachings from his brother's ministry in Rome. This is the story of Jesus, according to Simon. Andrew is bothered by what he just read. He decided to undertake the task of amending this manuscript to tell his version of the story of their teacher and friend. But little did Andrew know that he would not be the only one to rewrite this story.
The Gospel of Andrew tells the story of Jesus from one of his disciples' points of view, Andrew. Andrew was also a disciple of John the Baptist, a childhood friend of Jesus. We discover a more adversarial relationship coming from most of the disciples towards Jesus. Andrew's take is that, despite his teachings, very few people understood the purpose of Jesus. The good news is that it is neither necessary nor required to understand. During all his tribulations, Jesus would have demonstrated the triumph of Free Will, despite carrying the ultimate burden: the power of God.
This book contains three parts. The first part is the main story: The Gospel of Andrew. The second part explains how this story has been constructed. It presents the spiritual thesis on which this gospel is based, a brief study of the existing texts, and a set of rules that have been followed to amend the source material. There is also a third part to be discovered.
