Beginning in the UK, the book opens with a walk in the uplands of North Yorkshire. Finding an ancient stone circle, the narrator creates a spontaneous ceremony with chanting and prayers. She feels an intense longing for something that she cannot quite grasp. On the way home, helped by the trees growing alongside the path, she articulates her desire to contribute to taking better care of the planet. The story follows her subsequent wanderings, as she searches for the way forward through thoughts, dreams, meditative travelling and daily life. In time, the Eagle finds her and that could be ‘end of story’, but no, being consumed by the Eagle is a beginning. Carried by the Eagle and helped, along the way, by many other Beings (all of which, thanks to the vastness of expanding consciousness, are able to be experienced) a new set of concepts, more conducive to a joyful life, are brought into play in her. She travels to Australia to meet Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow, mystic and visionary teacher of life as inspiration, and to participate in his Sun Moon Dance ceremony, being held there for the first time. While in Australia she travels to the Red Centre of that vast continent; a journey which brings the connection with the Eagle into physical experience. On her return to the UK, daily life goes into meltdown and she moves from the west coast of England to live in the north of Scotland. The awe-inspiring power of the Eagle reveals itself further in thunder, lightning and in rain, creating the Rainbow, a long-loved source of inspiration for countless generations. Colours are important in a world of visioning, and forty-four colour images, highlighting sections of the text, are included in the book. Also featured are the sounds for chanting, as given by Beautiful Painted Arrow, and descriptions of the ceremonies; all these practices are designed to bring personal vibration in line with planetary wellbeing. The story illustrates this process from the personal experiences of the author, but the book is not, in any sense, didactic. The intent is to inspire other people to explore these less visited realms. This colourful, oft-times bizarre, story describes things that happened; if you love to think about life and consciousness there will surely be something to intrigue and entertain you in this book.
